Swine Flu Stocks Contaminating Wall Street

Dear Students

Fret not, I will continue to update my list of Swine Flu stock plays as long as the epidemic continues.

I’m limiting the stocks to those with a market cap less than $1 billion because this is a purely speculative scenario… and the mega caps won’t spike nearly as much.

Late last night I added 3 new swine flu stocks to the list: HALO, MCET, and AVII.

AVII is particularly interesting because they have existing collaborative research with the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense.

I believe the swine flu mania has the potential to be much greater than manias of the past.  Right now, the majority of biotech stocks are trading at multi-month highs, have plenty of momentum, and it wouldn’t surprise me if short sellers have increased their positions over the past few weeks that could create the mother-of-all-short-squeezes.

Happy Trading, The Dean
