The Dean’s View on Short Term Stock Picks
October 12th, 2009 at 12:00 pm Posted byThe Dean has had a good response to the changes he’s made with the CollegeStock brand over the past month or so. As part of this fine-tuning process, The Dean would like to bring more information about the financial world and small cap industry to the CollegeStock Community.
Over the past year or so, The Dean has noticed a lot of changes in the types of investments people have been making and talking about. Especially in a down and unpredictable economy, many investors have moved towards short term stocks and are looking for what The Dean calls speculative gains to help boost their portfolios.
In The Dean’s experience, he has learned that timing is extremely significant to the type of gains investors can potentially make in the short term. Obviously, The Dean wouldn’t want to jump in on a stock when it’s already made a lot of movement. At the same time, The Dean wouldn’t want to become greedy and stay in a stock too long and lose what could have been a nice profit.
Due to the people being greedy or fearful of the market fluctuations, the best thing any investor can do is do their homework and educate themselves of the company, it’s industry, their products and the potential market for that company’s product. Of course, it’s can be very beneficial to be a bargain shopper when it comes to small cap stocks. But The Dean wants all of his students to keep in mind that when you’re trading small stocks, there’s a lot of speculation involved.
If you’re looking for short term and speculative gains, it’s important to take a look at stocks that might have long-potential. Especially when it comes to small cap stocks, that long-term potential is what brings volume to the stock. As always, The Dean wants his students to do their own homework and make decisions based on what looks good to them and feels right for their trading accounts.
As The Dean has previously taught the CollegeStock Community, timing is a very significant factor in the type of gains you can potentially make. Especially as a day trader or someone who trades often, you must be committed to paying attention to market activity and trading volume to make the best and most profitable decisions.
This is why The Dean tells all of his students to do their homework.
One way of getting ahead in the penny-stocking game, is learning about The Dean’s Ivy League Stock Picks before the rest of the CollegeStock Community.
But maybe you’re thinking to yourself, “What’s an Ivy League Stock Pick?”
