The Dean’s Penny Stock Oath
October 23rd, 2009 at 8:30 am Posted byThe Dean would certainly not refer to himself as The Dean of Penny Stocks, if he didn’t do his homework and make sure that he has a good grasp on the most accurate information about the pennystocking industry. Call them penny stocks, micro cap stocks or short term stock picks but know that research is an essential tool for an investor to see positive results in their trading account.
Particularly in the penny stock world, many flock to message boards, paid and free newsletters, websites and other resources to see what stocks are being talked about, “touted” or “pumped.” People want to make money on these types of stocks but such stocks are extremely risky. Of course people want to make money but The Dean thinks that investors should be looking for what they feel is factual information about what is really affecting trading volume and share value.
More often than not, these sources are not reliable because the people talking about any given stock typically have their own motives for the stocks to perform well.
The Dean values the CollegeStock Community and his Honors Students and he always takes their best interests into consideration. Why? The Dean genuinely wants to help people make money. Sure, many people trade stocks and get involved in playing the markets because they want to make money. But, The Dean wants people to learn about the financial world and love trading stocks because they anticipate profits based on the quality of information and companies they’re potentially investing in.
The Dean does his homework daily, spending hours looking at charts, sorting through press releases and countless email alerts and newsletters to get an idea of what’s truly going on out there in the wide world of penny stocks.
But, if someone is new to penny stocks and investing in the micro cap markets, they may take all of these sources as being credible. When that happens, The Dean believes they will certainly lose money and, perhaps, become discouraged from playing the greatest game—investing. So where, in an industry so unpredictable, “shady,” and money hungry can you go to find a trustworthy source? The Dean believes that if you’re reading this now, you may just be in the right place.
Everyday, The Dean receives phone calls from “consultants” and “third parties” because they want him to talk about some underdiscovered company, which most of the time he’s never heard of before. Which calls into question—what makes a good pennystock promoter? Is it the success of their picks? The quantity of penny stocks they are paid to talk about or promote? Or, could this possibly be the quality of the picks they choose to talk about?
Not every penny stock can be an Ivy League Stock Pick (click to read more) and The Dean believes his 300 Honors Students realize this. At the same time, The Dean wants to help all of his students make money by teaching them the real reasons behind stock movement. Sometimes these stocks are paid promotions—just do a search for disclosures on the internet—there’s no shortage of this type of penny stock. But, other times, there are companies that have real news about real contracts, business dealings, premier products and innovative research and developing therapies.
Over the past couple of months, The Dean and the CollegeStock brand have indeed come to a turning point. Through quality content, hours of research, information about companies and their industries and compelling, factual information about the pennystocking industry and financial world as a whole, The Dean will continue to provide quality stock picks and information that he believes can make all of his students money.
The CollegeStock brand has built itself on trust and professionalism and will continue to grow with the support and readership of the CollegeStock Community. The Dean wants all of his students to stay tuned, as these changes will be implemented gradually in weeks and months to come.
