The Dean Thinks $SLAT Looks Clean and GREEN!
October 13th, 2009 at 11:31 am Posted by The DeanAs The Dean has taught the CollegeStock Community so far in his Wide World of Dean Series, clean energy could really see some GREEN over the next few years. That’s why The Dean’s bringing the CollegeStock Community Superlattice Power, Inc. (OTC: SLAT) as his next Ivy League Stock Pick.
$SLAT‘s a development stage company engaged in technology of zero-emission lithium-powered vehicles, hybrid vehicles and electric battery packs and they’ve recently developed a cathode material with a capacity nearly 150% of other commercial cathode materials.
The Dean thinks this material could be huge because of its rechargeable properties in current and future applications.
Beacon Equity reports that the markets for lithium-ion batteries reached $911 million in 2008 and anticipated that figure to grow 998% by 2015—that means $SLAT and their rechargeable material could be part of a $9 billion industry in 5 years.
This report from Beacon Equity also suggests the potential for growth in this industry is based on other energy sources—which everyone knows have been increased over the past few years. The Dean believes $SLAT could see BIG gains because taking a technology that’s used in portable computers, cell phones and satellites and applying it to the clean energy and smarter vehicle market.
Beacon Equity’s analysis of $SLAT also discusses that the market for hybrid and electric vehicles is likely to attract investors because of the increase in government programs and funding becoming available for cleaner and greener efforts throughout the world.
In fact, the International Energy Agency estimates that $26 trillion will be needed for green efforts in the next 2o years. That means global powers like the United States and China could be pumping well over $1 trillion a year into $SLAT‘s industry.
The Dean believes $SLAT could make some honorable gains because they recently announced the completion of their fast charge lithium-ion battery pack which reaches 80% capacity in just 30 minutes. This could bring attention to $SLAT because this qualified the company’s product for specifications needed for EV Innovations, Inc.’s (OTC: EVII) LiV series of electric vehicles and $SLAT anticipates the first prototype of this battery pack to be developed and delivered in the next 2 months.
The Dean thinks $SLAT has an even better chance to deliver because they have teamed up with Hybrid Technologies, who has successfully taken $SLAT‘s nano and submicron materials from laboratory to industrial scale. This could also be an attention-getter for $SLAT because their partner’s LiV DASH all-electric version of the Smart Car, has already been featured by NASA earlier this summer.
The Dean thinks any type of possible contract with NASA, who spends at least $17 billion a year, makes $SLAT‘s potential even GREENER.
