looks like the "swine flu frenzy" may be fiction, and
the Dean should try a different promotion strategy.

I read all of Ayn Rand back in college, and agree stock promotion is all about marketing, not truth. I just thought I would interject some marketing prose that may ring truer than what you posted.
It's amusing with all this flu panic, I take a crowded NY subway at rush hour and see maybe one mask worn in every other car, and the person wearing is Asian - as their countries are more mask conscious.
I think you should included that quote in all your disclaimers: "Most of these penny stocks will indeed fail in the long-run but that's unrelated to short-term profits in pennystocking."

@packeteers Please shoot me an email, I want to buy you 'The Fountainhead' by Ayn Rand for Christmas I think you will learn a lot from the book about perception and reality.

PennyStocking is about perception.

I see at least 1 person wearing an N95 mask each time I travel, and I can't help but imagine what all the other people on the plane are thinking when they see that mask.

My thought process- "N95 masks and other means of self-protection against transmission make the swine flu story even more appealing, and therefore more people will feel compelled to buy any related stock."

The same "perception sells" mentality took place during every major bubble in history- the Tulip Bubble, SARS stocks, Avian Flu stocks. Most of these penny stocks will indeed fail in the long-run but thats unrelated to short-term profits in pennystocking.

were I to use a mask on a plane, it would be a special sealed againt the face N100 respirator costing five times more, not the typical loose fitting N95 surgical masks most people are seen using. N95 are only good for flying particulates such as a sneeze and cough, and not at filtering aerosol particulates such as those found on a crowded plane. making that distinction actually helps support your IPO's concept better than what you wrote ;)

Dean - you just shot yourself in the foot; masks on planes are ineffective because H1N1'09 transmission is primarily from particulates on surfaces, not airborne aerosols, so you just argued against your own IPO concept ;)
