Surprise! Google Launches Beta Version of Google Chrome Early

Google (GOOG) has launched a Beta version of their take on the modern browser, and programmers at Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft (MSFT) had better take note. All bright and shiny, the Chrome is making waves in the industry, and could change the way we look at computing. On the surface, Chrome looks like just another browser. But dig deeper and you find what promises to be on of the best cloud-computing systems to come out in some time.
So why should anyone be excited? Chrome will serve as a browser, just like Internet Explorer and all the others. But early peeks at the program show that there are some incredibly cool new features that just might make competitors wave a white flag and beg for mercy – or step up to the plate and produce. Google Chrome will include a browser, Google Gears, which includes a host of online and offline apps such as email, messaging, chat, etc. Google desktop search, Google Earth, and Open source development platform. For the most part, your computer will be transformed into a seamlessly integrated Google software environment that’s kinda like Windows – but aims to be better.
Use of Google Chrome promises to make Google’s (and the competitor’s) online application and games easier to use and provide a richer overall experience. It will be capable of running directly on any device with or without Windows. And the best part – IT WILL BE FREE! Given a few years time, it will come pre-loaded on all new computers and devices with internet capability, just like Windows does. Something tells me Microsoft (MSFT) is heading for some hard times. Google Chrome’s beta version is set to launch sometime today in over a hundred countries, and the rumor mill reports that it could be available after 2 PM Eastern time. Windows users can download Google Chrome here but unfortunately Apple users (The Dean included) must wait.
