$IVOB: Evolution Could Increase Infertility

In an effort to bring the CollegeStock Community relevant and up-to-date information about his Ivy League Stock Picks, The Dean has been doing his homework about a number of markets and industries. Recently, The Dean has told his students that many factors could increase infertility in women and men. Among these causes are obesity, diabetes, sexually transmitted infections and other health problems.
An article released today, however, actually suggests that our own bodies are working against our ability to reproduce effectively. Surprisingly, this article is not about low sperm count or sperm with low motility but sperm that has evolved as part of the evolutionary process known as natural selection. Throughout the course of history, the human body has constantly been changing to adapt to our surrounding and to ensure that our populations are sustained. In the process known as natural selection, the more conditioned individuals within a species are said to survive because they are better suited for the environment in which they live.
This article discusses how Dr. Oren Hasson from Tel Aviv University believes some men are producing “super sperm” which are too fast and powerful to fertilize women’s eggs. Dr. Hasson, an evolutionary biologist, claims that modern infertility rates are increasing because of this phenomenon. Typically, many sperm are warded off and killed by the female body’s natural defenses and immune system. But now, Hasson claims that sperm are evolving to become more resistant to the woman’s defenses.
This process, known as polyspermy, results in more than one sperm penetrating the egg. As a defense mechanism, the female body rejects the sperm and prevents fertilization inside the woman’s body from taking place. The Dean thinks this could make $IVOB‘s INVOcell procedure very attractive. And since Hasson believes that this process is a large cause of the increase in infertility in populations around the world, $IVOB could be taking the right steps by setting up shop internationally.
The Dean feels that infertility seems to be a problem that plagues both partners in what appears to be an infertile couples “arms race.” When evolution calls for subtle changes to improve fertility, it cannot be guaranteed that make and female bodies will be on the same reproductive page.
What’s unique and ironic about this infertility problem is that some sperm are too weak or not motile enough to penetrate the egg, while others are suggested to be too good. Dr. Hasson believes the human body might be in an evolutionary stage where “high rates of fertility can be seen.”
If Dr. Hasson’s theory is correct, The Dean feels that the infertility market will in fact increase over the next couple of decades. The Dean thinks that if this process is truly happening, the 150 million infertile couples in the world will have plenty more company at IVF clinics all over the world.
The Dean feels that as long as their are causes for infertility, $IVOB will have a market to treat and profits to be had.

I got in on IVOB when it was at .12 and I sold today at .36. Thanks Dean.
