Google Announces Android G1 Phone, Debuts Oct 22nd

Introducing… Google’s first cell phone: G1

According to the Associated Press, the G1 will cost $179 w/ 2-year agreement. The G1 willl go head-to-head with Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone, in a battle royal of mobile domination.

Pre-orders began today, with an Oct 22nd debut. You better act quick… The Dean already reserved his own G1 and can’t wait to blog about a comparison between G1 & iPhone sometime around Oct 24th. Mark your calendars.
