The Dean wants his students to read up on these popular penny stocks for Tuesday, August 31, 2010:

Degama Software Solutions, Inc. (PINK: DGMA) is a leading edge technology company that develops and markets proprietary location based software solutions and applications for consumers and businesses. This morning, the Company announced 12 month projections of $32 million “based on its initiatives summary as it prepares for Q4.” DGMA expects revenues from co-development deals including a multi-lingual expansion of its core product, VascoNow, as well as exclusive worldwide licensing rights. This morning, DGMA shares have gained nearly 90%, trading over 33 million shares, or more than this penny stock’s 10-day average volume.

Identive Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: INVE) provides products and solutions in the areas of physical and logical access control, identity management, and radio frequency identification (RFID) systems to governments, commercial and industrial enterprises, and consumers worldwide. As of Thursday, August 19, 2010, the Company announced it had been selected by Rabobank to provide personalization and fulfillment services for the Dutch bank’s latest application of its MiniTax cashless e-payment solutions. Thereafter, the Company reported over $21 million in revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. This morning, INVE shares opened at $1.70, down about 8.5% from yesterday’s close of $1.86.

Micro Imaging Technology, Inc. (OTC: MMTC) a development stage company focused on the development of fluid monitoring systems for water monitoring, food processing, and clinical applications in the United States. Today, MMTC has traded as high as $0.0237, but have since fallen to $0.0218 per share.

SKGP $0.008 +14.29%
Smart Kids Group, Inc. (OTC: SKGP) is a global provider of children’s digital education and entertainment. The Company distributes and licenses quality children’s character-based “edutainment” products through a variety of media including television, DVD, retail, direct marketing, and the internet. SKGP last issued a press release announcing David Benson to its Board of Directors in June. Today, however, SKGP shares have gained more than 28%, hitting a high of $0.009 so far this morning.

LBSR $0.157 +12.14%
Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTC: LBSR) is an Arizona-based mineral exploration company engaged in the acquisition and exploration of mineral properties in the states of Arizona, Alaska, and Sonora, Mexico. According to the Company’s website, LBSR controls properties totaling approximately 160,000 acres in an area that it “considers some of North America’s richest mineralization regions for uranium, copper, gold, silver and molybdenum (moly).” Despite the Company issuing an actual press release in the past few months, LBSR has continued to be a popular penny stock. Take this morning, for example. LBSR has traded over 6 million shares, gaining more than 13% on no news.
