U.S. Price Gainers Under $5 for August 19: (MAG, KV-A, CYAN, AAU, EDAP)

These penny stocks have made The Dean’s list of price gainers for Thursday, August 19, 2010:

MAG
Magnetek, Inc. (NYSE: MAG) provides digital power control systems North America. This morning, the Company reported revenues of $24.3 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, a 22% increase from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 and a 27% sequential increase from the third quarter of fiscal 2010. MAG gained as much as 20.9%, hitting a high of $1.33, before closing up 14.55% at $1.26 today.

KV-A
K-V Pharmaceutical Company (NYSE: KV-A) develops, manufactures, acquires, and markets branded and generic/non-branded prescription pharmaceutical products. Gaining as much as 13.79% over Wednesday’s close of $1.45, KV-A shares closed the day 12.41% in the green at $1.63.

CYAN
Cyanotech Corporation (NASDAQ: CYAN) engages in the cultivation, production, and sale of natural products derived from microalgae worldwide. Today, CYAN shares moved to a high of $2.36, gaining 9.26% on volume exceeding its 10-day average.

AAU
Almaden Materials, Ltd. (AMEX: AAU) is an exploration stage company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral properties in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Yesterday, the Company reported the assay results from the remaining holes at its 100% owned Ixtaca zone in Puebla State, Mexico. Trading as high as $1.84, AAU shares gained as much as 10%, before closing the day at $1.82, or 8.97% in green territory.

EDAP
EDAP TMS S.A. (NASDAQ: EDAP) and its subsidiaries develop, produce, market, distribute, and maintain medical devices for the treatment of urological diseases. Today, the Company announced that it has filed its 510(k) application for marketing clearance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its compact and stand alone lithotripter Sonolith i-move, which received CE approval, and launched in Europe, in April 2010. Today, EDAP traded more than twice its 10-day average volume, and gained as much as 13% over its previous close. EDAP shares gained 7.27%, closing the day at $2.36 per share.
