NASDAQ Price Gainers Under $5 for July 29: (CRWN, PRPH, ACAD, ICOP, RMTR)

Through its subsidiary, Crown Media United States, LLC, Crown Media Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWN) owns and operates pay television channels, such as the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, in the United States and Puerto Rico. Two weeks ago, CRWN announced that it will be conducting a conference call on Thursday, August 12th, 2010 at 11 a.m. EST to discuss the financial results for the three and six month periods ended June 30, 2010. So far today, CRWN has traded more than 14 times its 3 month average volume, climbing as much as 64.6% over yesterday’s close of $1.78 to a high of $2.93.

PRPH $1.75 +35.65%
ProPhase Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRPH) engages in the research, development, manufacture, distribution, marketing, and sale of over-the-counter consumer products, natural base health products, and other supplements and cosmeceuticals for human and veterinary use. On May 17, 2010, in the company’s most recent press release, PRPH reported net sales of $2 million for the three months ended March 31, 2010, compared to net sales of $4.0 million for the three months ended March 31, 2009. Despite the company not issuing news in the past two months, PRPH has traded over 4 times its 90-day average volume, and gained as much as 47.28%, today.

ACAD $1.37 +26.85%
This morning, Acadia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACAD) announced that it has initiated a new Phase III trial designated to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability and safety of Pimavanserin as a treatment for patients with Parkinson’s disease psychosis, otherwise known as PDP. Trading as high as $1.42 this morning, ACAD shares have gained 31.48% over Wednesday’s close of $1.08 on volume far exceeding its 90-day average.

ICOP Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICOP) designs, engineers and markets video surveillance products for the public safety, military and homeland security markets. As of last Friday, The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC notified the Company that it has met the requirements of the March 24, 2010 decision of the Listing Qualifications Panel of the NASDAQ Stock Market, and has continued the listing of the Company’s securities on The NASDAQ Stock Market. Since this announcement, ICOP shares have gained more than 70%, moving to a high of $1.40 so far today.

RMTR $3.58 +9.84%
After market close Tuesday, Ramtron International Corporation (NASDAQ: RMTR), a fabless semiconductor company, reported record revenue of $18.3 million for the second quarter of 2010, compared to $11 million for the same quarter last year. Net income for Q2 2010 was $357,000, or $0.01 per share. Today, RMTR shares have gained 13.49%, moving to a high of $3.70.
